Goodbye Buenos Aires 🇦🇷
It was my 4th time in the city, but this visit felt different - because it was @EFDevcon.
First of all, huge congratulations to @nethan_eth, the entire Devcon organizing team, and all the incredible Argentinians in the crypto ecosystem @mbeaudroit, @fernandezdiego, @scristobal94 - what you pulled off this year was nothing short of exceptional.
And honestly, I can’t think of a country more fitting than Argentina to host a conference about the future of money.
The name Argentina comes from the Latin "argentum" - silver.
Centuries ago, the first European explorers reached these shores chasing legends of a land overflowing with precious metals.
The myth of the Sierra del Plata - a mountain of silver - pushed them to cross oceans in search of wealth.
Back then, people came here to take something.
That’s why Devcon in Buenos Aires was more than symbolic - it created a powerful contrast.
Because this time, thousands of people from every corner of the world didn’t travel here to extract value, but to build it together.
Not to seize resources, but to create a new global model - open, decentralized, borderless - and to do it hand in hand, with every nationality represented.
And you could feel how deeply this aligned with the local reality:
- Paying for meals in stablecoins as if it were the most natural thing
- Perchants openly preferring USDT over cash
- Everyday conversations where Bitcoin feels more trustworthy than the peso
- Adoption that isn’t speculative - it’s practical, necessary, lived
In a country where inflation shapes daily life, decentralized tools aren’t an experiment.
Devcon in Buenos Aires wasn’t just a conference - it was a reminder that what we’re building is global, collaborative, and already changing lives.
